The heartbeat is the first sound of life, and also the first border we have to leave. El latido es el primer sonido de la vida y también la primera frontera que tenemos que abandonar. Сердцебиение — первый звук жизни и одновременно первая граница, которую нужно покинуть.
Slow Mother explores the moment a person separates from the mother. All participants find themselves in one shared space, an improvised womb. From the first minute to the last, a gong sounds as a slow heartbeat. The sound never stops. It holds the space, the time and the attention.
Madre lenta explora el momento en que una persona se separa de la madre. Todos los participantes se encuentran en un mismo espacio, un útero improvisado. Desde el primer minuto hasta el último suena un gong, como un latido lento. El sonido no se detiene. Sostiene el espacio, el tiempo y la atención.
«Медленная мать» исследует момент отделения человека от матери. Все участники оказываются в едином пространстве — в импровизированной утробе. С самого начала и до самого конца звучит гонг, как медленное сердцебиение. Звук непрерывен. Он держит пространство, время и внимание.
The slow pulse of the gong becomes a metaphor for womb time, the different flow of life before birth, a cosmic rhythm in which there is no individuality yet.
El pulso lento del gong se convierte en una metáfora del tiempo uterino: otro fluir de la vida, anterior al nacimiento, un ritmo cósmico en el que aún no existe la individualidad.
Медленный пульс гонга становится метафорой утробного времени — другого течения жизни, предшествующего рождению, космического ритма, в котором ещё нет индивидуальности.

- LeavingLa salidaВыход There is no fixed duration. Each participant decides when to leave. You can only leave when the decision has truly been made. That moment is the act of separation. The artist stays almost motionless at the gong for the whole performance, keeping the two slow strokes until the last participant decides to leave. This performance is my personal research and therapy. My mother left me when I was a small child. Very early I found myself at a point where separation happened not by choice, but as a traumatic rupture. Over the years I feel more and more the need to explore this theme not with the mind, but with the body, with sound, with presence.
Esta performance es mi investigación personal y mi terapia. Mi madre me dejó cuando yo era un niño pequeño. Muy pronto me encontré en un punto en el que la separación no ocurrió por elección, sino como una ruptura traumática. Con los años siento cada vez más la necesidad de explorar este tema no con la mente, sino con el cuerpo, con el sonido, con la presencia.
Этот перформанс — моё личное исследование и терапия. Моя мама покинула меня, когда я был маленьким ребёнком. Я очень рано оказался в точке, где сепарация произошла не по выбору, а как травматический обрыв. С годами я всё больше чувствую необходимость исследовать эту тему — не умом, а телом, звуком, присутствием.
It is a piece about life, about growing up, and about the right to leave in time. Es una pieza sobre la vida, sobre crecer y sobre el derecho a irse a tiempo. Он про жизнь, про взросление и про право уйти вовремя.

The idea was born in summer 2025 at Outline festival, where the artist played a slow heartbeat on the gong for six continuous hours for the first time. The concept has been maturing since then; the new instrument for the piece, a 36″ Cosmo Air gong by Ton of Life is already in the artist's hands.
La idea nació en el verano de 2025 en el festival Outline, donde el artista tocó por primera vez un latido lento en el gong durante seis horas seguidas. Desde entonces el concepto ha ido madurando; el nuevo instrumento para la pieza, un gong Cosmo Air de 36″ de Ton of Life, ya está en manos del artista.
Идея родилась летом 2025 года на фестивале Outline, где художник впервые шесть часов подряд играл на гонге медленное сердцебиение. С тех пор концепция зрела. Новый инструмент для перформанса — гонг Cosmo Air 36″ фирмы Ton of Life — уже куплен.

Ilya Zhuravlev is a performer, sound therapist, film production designer and producer, based in Barcelona. He works where sound, performance and bodily experience meet, exploring altered states of consciousness through long sound practices focused on pulse, vibration and deep listening. Since 2021 he has led hundreds of gong sessions for groups and individuals. In 2025 he took part in Outline festival as a member of the UXO collective, and has worked in immersive theatre, performance and interdisciplinary projects.
Ilya Zhuravlev es performer, terapeuta de sonido, director de arte de cine y productor, con base en Barcelona. Trabaja en el cruce entre sonido, performance y experiencia corporal, explorando estados alterados de conciencia a través de largas prácticas sonoras centradas en el pulso, la vibración y la escucha profunda. Desde 2021 ha guiado cientos de sesiones de gong para grupos y personas. En 2025 participó en el festival Outline con el colectivo UXO, y ha trabajado en teatro inmersivo, performance y proyectos interdisciplinarios.
Илья Журавлёв — перформер, звукотерапевт, художник-постановщик кино и продюсер, живёт в Барселоне. Работает на стыке звука, перформанса и телесного опыта, исследует изменённые состояния сознания через длительные звуковые практики с фокусом на пульсе, вибрации и глубинном слушании. С 2021 года провёл сотни гонг-сессий для групп и индивидуально. В 2025 году участвовал в фестивале Outline в составе коллектива UXO, работал в иммерсивных спектаклях, перформансах и междисциплинарных проектах.
